There is no place like Hue, Vietnam. Where all softwares are free for you, with just $1 you can buy a cracked software in any cd store in Hue. This fact makes software companies and developers like my company and me hard to earn money from their products. For example a Restaurant Management Software maybe cost about $400 to $1000 in some elsewhere, but in Hue, you can use a solution with no cost at all.
Built up a company, and make a fighting, give the customers the ideas of well designed softwares/websites. Sometimes, we just think we can't go through, but we're young and we know that by the time, people changes, and they will pay money for good softwares and so can live by our products. The show must go on! We keep on working and belive in a better future for us and for all good developers in Hue and in Vietnam.
At this time, we do not develop any software, just modify and sell our solutions that we made in the past. Even if a customer call me and ask me to make a new software, we will not spend much of our time to develop software for months and sell it at a price that as low as a Hue developer's salary or give it free. A developer from Hue just have a $70/month salary or no salary at all. We live in a citadel, but there are just four small software companies in Hue city.
Now we just design and programming websites, and build web applications as services. Five developers spent five or six month for a big website just for $1000. We live by the air and belive in something doesn't exist at the moment.
But, we love programming, we called our laptops as lovers and our applications as our sons.
In our dream, we want to make a strong developer community in Hue, give developers a place to talk, to dream and to believe that they can make their dreams come true. Hight skill developers will make big IT companies go to Hue and setup their branches here. I and my students (I've been a college teacher of IT) are in phase 1 of a project that will give Vietnamese developers a key to bring their thoughs, their knowlegde to developers on all over the world and world's developers can keep in touch easily with Vietnamese developer. And the version 1 will be done in the end of 2010. We believe that we will make it live on the internet at 11/2010.
Hope that god will give us strenght to overcome any all challenges!
